Popular models sold in the US include Bullet G5 Classic (EFI), Bullet G5 Military and Bullet 500 Deluxe.
Royal Enfield is currently working on the changes to meet the Indian conditions and people over here already customized their bullets by local workshops to sport the looks of its International variants. There is a dormant demand for the International models of Royal Enfield in India. These models are homologized in Europe and the US to meet their specific rules and regulations connected to emissions and safety.
Royal Enfield will leverage on the success of its Thunderbird motorcycle by launching two models based on the same engine platform. Both the motorcycles are expected to be introduced by March 2010. Thunderbird is its most popular model in the metros. It sells 600 units monthly. In the non-metros, Bullet Electra – which also has the same engine category – sells about 1,000 units a month. Almost 90 per cent of its sales in the domestic market are through 350cc bikes.
The Chennai-based company will also increase the annual production capacity from 44000 units to 60000 per annum by next year. The investment for increasing would worth Rs 25 Crores
